A seven-year-old boy died after he was electrocuted in a park in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City on Saturday night, December 9.

The authorities have requested not to identify the victim, but they confirmed he was a resident of Purok Salmon in the city’s Barangay Zone 6.

Cadiz police said the boy was playing when he accidentally touched an open wire from the park’s ground lighting.

Paramedics immediately responded to the area, trying to revive the victim.

However, the boy was later declared dead on arrival at the city’s emergency clinic.

The area where the electrocution occurred has been cordoned off.

Authorities turned off the power to the ground lighting./DGB, WDJ
