The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will increase personnel deployment as part of security measures for the holiday season.
BCPO spokesperson, Lt. Colonel Ronnie Brillo, said additional police personnel will be deployed to some major streets in the city, particularly Araneta Street in the downtown area, and Lacson Street, where the city tourism strip is located.
The police personnel were ordered to closely monitor places of convergence, such as shopping malls, transport terminals, parks, and churches.
The number of police assistance desks will be increased to 30, and road safety marshals will conduct patrols along main thoroughfares.
Meanwhile, Brillo said residents have nothing to worry about after the terrorist bombing in Marawi City last Sunday, December 3.
However, Brillo also asked public cooperation to inform BCPO immediately if they find suspicious individuals, as well as discover any suspicious objects that were left behind./DGB, WDJ
