10 nabbed, over P1-M ‘shabu’ seized in 2-day anti-drug ops in Bacolod

Drug enforcement teams arrested 10 suspects and seized P1.046 million worth of suspected shabu in three buy-bust operations in the past two days, reports from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) showed yesterday.

Just before 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, six individuals were apprehended in Purok Kaingin, Barangay Singcang-Airport by operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit in Western Visayas.

The subject, Aeron Grace Andal, 25 years old, was collared after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P13,000 to an undercover police officer.

Also arrested were Andal’s companions, identified as Stephanie Espinosa, 20 years old; Maria Aliguin, 27 years old; Samuel Gallardo, 38 years old; Audie Medel, 23 years old; and Freddie Denisa, 52 years old.

According to the police report, operatives recovered from the suspects 75 grams of suspected shabu worth P510,000, along with various drug paraphernalia.

In an interview, Andal, who was detained at Police Station 8 with the other suspects, denied owning the illegal drugs recovered by the police, while Denisa said he had never been involved in the illegal drug trade.

At 11:00 p.m., operatives of Police Station 5 also arrested Arnold Pangaral in Hacienda Teresita, Barangay Granada after he sold P500 worth of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

The suspect yielded seven grams of the same prohibited substance valued at P47,000.

On Wednesday morning, November 29, three suspects were apprehended in Purok Lubi, Barangay 3 by operatives of the BCPO-City Drug Enforcement Unit.

They were identified as Jimmy Cordova, Michael Ababa and Wilfrando Francia, who are now detained at Police Station 2.

The suspects were apprehended at past 4:30 a.m. after selling P3,000 worth of suspected shabu to an undercover police.

Operatives also found in their possession about 72 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P489,000.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects. (PNA)
