The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division in Negros Occidental reminded public schools in the province to keep their Christmas parties simple but meaningful, as preparations for the holidays are now in full-swing this week.
Ian Arnaiz, DepEd-NegOcc spokesperson, said Christmas parties in schools should be simple, while the “no collection and no solicitation” policy is being implemented.
DepEd-NegOcc memorandum no. 930, issued on November 23, said that parties “should only be held within the classrooms, and teachers are encouraged to use recycled decorations.”
Arnaiz said classes are only until December 15 for this year, before the Christmas break, and are set to resume on January 3, 2024./DGB, WDJ
