The management of the Quezon City Gerflor Defenders admitted that they are encountering internal issues with their players and coaches and are working on an immediate solution.
In a statement on Thursday night, November 9, the Defenders assured that they are in the process of finding ways to resolve the problem, which they are planning to do privately with the persons involved.
“The Premier Volleyball League [PVL] has already issued a statement regarding the ongoing inquiry pertaining to the Gerflor team management and team members [players and coaches] situation,” the Gerflor management said.
“We acknowledge the problem, and we are currently working on an immediate solution to resolve it. Rest assured that all matters will be resolved privately for the interest of everyone concerned,” the team added.
Gerflor, currently has a 0-6 record in the PVL All-Filipino Conference, faced criticism following a viral social media post from a supposed player regarding delayed player salaries and an unsafe training venue.
Defenders veteran Danika Gendrauli, in a post-game interview, appealed to the management to heed their players’ concerns amidst the internal issues affecting them.
Lahat naman tayo,” the Cebuana volleybelle further said.
In a statement, the PVL announced an investigation into the issues surrounding the team, requesting patience from the public as they work to address the problem./ASC, WDJ
