The proposed P5.4 billion budget for Negros Occidental in 2024 now awaits approval from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP).
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the proposed budget has increased by more than six percent, compared to the current P5.1 billion budget.
The increase in funds will be allocated to the province’s priority projects, particularly in the agriculture sector and the Gender and Development Program.
Lacson said the budget increase only signifies the continued commitment of the provincial government to projects that have just started.
He said the SP assured that the proposed budget’s passage would not be delayed./DGB, WDJ
