A bounty worth P200,000 has been offered by the Himamaylan City government in Negros Occidental for anyone who can give information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect behind the shooting incident in the city’s Aguisan village.

Antonio Tobias, 67 years old, a widow and a resident of the said village, was shot to death on Friday, September 1.

A city police investigation showed that Tobias was inside a sports utility vehicle, driven by local contractor Cesar Buenaventura, when he was shot by a lone gunman three times.

He was declared dead on arrival after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head.

Lt. Colonel Reynante Jomocan, city police chief, said a witness was able to identify the suspect.

They said the perpetrator was also a city resident, and had no previous criminal records.

Meanwhile, in a social media post, Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson advised informants to immediately get in touch with the police through telephone numbers 0998-598-7422 and 0998-598-7423.

Tongson also condemned Tobias’ murder and expressed his condolences to the victim’s loved ones./DGB, WDJ
