Three individuals were arrested for alleged illegal fishing at the Sagay Marine Reserve in Negros Occidental’s Sagay City.

Fisherfolks 46-year-old Roel Vargas, 28-year-old Ronnie Vargas and 32-year-old Welson Taliksik, all residents of the city’s Barangay Molocaboc, were arrested, police said.

They were caught allegedly fishing using a compressor.

Authorities confiscated their motorized banca, an improvised spear and fishing paraphernalia.

They are temporarily under police custody./ WDJ
