A woman was found dead beside a river at Barangay 1 in Negros Occidental’s San Carlos City yesterday morning.

Authorities identified the victim as 41-year-old Erma Rose Higtenta, a resident of Bacolod City, and temporarily resides in San Carlos.

An initial investigation showed residents heard gunshots before the discovery of the body.

However, no empty bullet shells were recovered from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing./WDJ
