A farmer was shot to death by a still unidentified individual at Barangay Camalobalo in Negros Occidental’s Hinigaran town on Friday afternoon, July 14.

Ryan John Gelisanga, 39 years old, a resident of the village’s Sitio Nasuli, went to get his carabao in a sugarcane field where he was shot, town police said.

His stepdaughter told police that she heard loud gun shots at around 2:00 p.m.

She later discovered Gelisanga covered with blood.

The victim succumbed to nine gunshot wounds on his body.

He was taken to Hinigaran Medical Clinic but was declared dead on arrival.

Recovered from the crime scene were four metal slugs of .45 caliber and four cartridges of 9mm.

An investigation is ongoing./WDJ
