At least five companies are expected to participate in the bulk water project investor’s forum of the Negros Occidental provincial government on August 9.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said yesterday that the P1.2 billion project is a priority of his administration which aims to provide clean and potable drinking water for Negrenses.

The five companies participating in the bulk water project are Aboitiz InfraCapital, Suez Water Technologies, Manila Water, San Miguel Corporation, and Genesis Water Technologies.

Meanwhile, Bacolod City Water District has yet to give a formal letter of intent.

Under the joint venture agreement for the bulk water project, a P1.2 billion fund will come from the private sector, while P100 million will be allocated by the provincial government.
