Authorities identified the fatality as 33-year-old Arturo Quipse Jr., a resident of Barangay Dulao’s Purok Lopues in Negros Occidental’s Bago City.
Bago police chief, Lt. Colonel Joem Malong said Quipse invited the suspect, 43-year-old Jonathan Dequilla, to a drinking session in the city public plaza.
However, an argument ensued between them, which escalated into a commotion.
Quipse allegedly pulled out an unidentified caliber of firearm, but Dequilla allegedly stabbed the victim in his upper right arm using a bladed weapon, police said.
He was rushed to a district hospital, but he was dead on arrival.
