The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reopened its investigation into the murder of former Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (Noneco) general manager Atty. Danny Pondevilla.
BCPO director, Police Colonel Noel Aliño said they want to re-investigate Pondevilla’s murder, as until now, there is no formal probe into the killings.
Charges have not been filed against those involved, Aliño added.
He said they are also looking into other unsolved murders in the city every week during the BCPO’s command conference.
Pondevilla was gunned down inside his parked vehicle in front of a food establishment in Bacolod City’s Lacson Street in December of last year.
An empty .45 caliber shell and a bullet slug were recovered at the crime scene.
Fondly addressed as “GM Dan,” Pondevilla finished his undergraduate studies in political science at age 21, and passed the bar examinations and became a lawyer at 25.
Pondevilla was the youngest to serve as legal officer of Negros Occidental’s Talisay City government at 27.
He previously served as general manager of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative./DGB, WDJ
