A man was stabbed dead inside his house in Negros Occidental’s Sagay City early yesterday morning.
Kristian Bacay, 38 years old, a resident of Barangay Paraiso’s Yolanda Housing Phase 2, named the suspects prior to his death.
According to Sagay City police, around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, Bacay went to the house of his brother, Kenny, for a drinking session.
Bacay returned to his house at around 1:00 a.m.
A few minutes later, two individuals on a motorcycle arrived at his residence.
His neighbors heard arguments, before seeing the two exiting the house.
They boarded the motorcycle and sped away from the area.
The residents then found Bacay on the floor covered with blood.
Bacay told them the suspects’ names, Botchoy Bascones and Jepy Salgado, allegedly responsible for stabbing him.
The neighbors rushed Bacay to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
A follow-up operation by Sagay police later resulted in Salgado’s arrest, but he denied the allegations that he was one of the suspects.
Bascones is still being hunted down by police.
Sagay police believe the motive may be due to old grudges./DGB, WDJ
