A man was shot to death by his drinking buddy at Barangay Ayungon in Negros Occidental’s La Carlota City on Sunday night, May 21.

The victim, 44-year-old Hernani Aginda, a resident of the city’s Barangay Batuan, was allegedly shot by 62-year-old Edgardo Molines, a retired Army officer.

The initial investigation revealed they were having a drinking session inside the suspect’s residence, when a heated argument ensued between them.

Molines allegedly shot Aginda in the forehead, which resulted in his death.

For his part, Molines told the police that the victim went home but came back with a bladed weapon (tagad) and allegedly smashed the suspect’s chicken cage.

He added that Aginda said, “Waay ko gani nahadlok sa police, sa Army pa!”

Molines told the victim to stop and go home.

However, Aginda kicked the door, which prompted the suspect to shoot him.

Police said Molines turned over a caliber .45 firearm.

The suspect was in the custody of the local police station./MS, WDJ
