A 32-year-old father was arrested for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City.
In a radio interview over RMN dyHB Bacolod yesterday, Talisay police deputy chief, Police Lt. Karina Onio, said a criminal rape charge was filed by the suspect’s former wife last May 11.
Onio has requested not to identify the suspect and the victim.
Based on a police investigation, the victim’s parents had separated when she was just seven years old.
Her mother was not able to communicate for years due to work.
The daughter, along with her other siblings, were left in her father’s custody.
Onio said the father allegedly molested his daughter at that time.
It continued for years until she told her mother what the suspect was doing to her.
The victim and her mother went to the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD), which ultimately led to the suspect’s arrest.
WCPD also coordinated with the City Social Welfare and Development to have the victim checked and it found that the victim was five-months pregnant.
The suspect is currently detained at the police station./DGB, WDJ
