Over P70,000 worth of hotdogs and skin care products were stolen from two establishments at Barangay 4 in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City on Tuesday afternoon, April 25.

Cadiz police chief, Lt. Colonel Gil John Despi said, based on the closed-circuit television footage, four individuals posing as customers entered a store on the village’s Abelarde Street.

The footage showed the suspects taking several bags of hotdogs and placing them in their bags.

That time, the security guard was completely unaware of the incident.

He let the four suspects exit the store, police said.

Based on stock inventory, they found that the suspects had carted away 170 packs of jumbo-sized hotdogs worth P25,840, and 80 packs of another brand, amounting to P2,460.

Meanwhile, at another grocery store on the same street past 4:30 p.m., the robbers carted away skin care products worth P50,837.

Footage also shows that they placed the stolen items in their bags and slipped away from the establishment without being noticed by the security guard.

Police are now in the process of identifying the suspects./DGB, WDJ
