The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) conducted a spot drug test on all its personnel following the assumption of office of the newly-installed acting city police director, Colonel Noel Aliño.
Aliño led the spot drug test at BCPO headquarters on Wednesday, April 19.
The first batch for the drug test were the 43 commissioned police officers of the BCPO.
Aliño said the purpose of the activity is to gain moral ascendancy.
“Wala kaming ipagmamalaki kung hindi kami clean pagdating sa droga. Kaya ako ang nag-lead sa kanila. Ako ang una nagpa-drug test,” he said.
In case anyone of them is positive for illegal drugs, the rule of law will be applied to the police officer, he added.
Aliño also vowed to act to several complaints received by the city government.
Some of the complaints were lack of police visibility, theft incidents, and delayed police action when assistance is needed./MS, WDJ
