A retired principal was allegedly stabbed by his neighbor at Barangay Poblacion in Negros Occidental’s Toboso town on Tuesday afternoon, April 11.

Authorities identified the victim as 67-year-old Fabio Julom, while the suspect was 46-year-old Roque Bibanco.

Both are residents of the village’s Purok Malinawon.

Toboso deputy police chief, Police Captain Rene Boy Eduardo, said Julom was doing a repair beside the road near the suspect’s house.

Bibanco approached and allegedly stabbed him for no apparent reason.

Julom sustained stab wounds in his right chest and back.

The victim asked for help from another neighbor, who brought him to the Toboso Municipal Health Office and later to the Sagay District Hospital for treatment.

Police later arrested Bibanco inside his home after the incident.

The suspect could face a frustrated murder charge over the incident.

It is also believed that he is suffering from a mental illness./DGB, WDJ
