A 38-year-old man was drowned in a river at Barangay Camindangan in Negros Occidental’s Sipalay City on Sunday afternoon, April 9.
Police identified the fatality as 38-year-old Richard Paborada, a resident of the village’s Sitio Sadlom.
Based on information released by the Sipalay City police, Paborada reportedly took a swim in the river near his house at around 3:00 p.m.
A few minutes later, his cousin, John Paul Valespin, later found Paborada lifeless with his head stuck in a hole of a huge rock.
The victim was immediately brought to the Sipalay City Infirmary where he was declared dead on arrival./DGB, WDJ
