A bus company based in Bacolod City said there are no changes to the trip schedule for all their bus units during Holy Week.
In a radio interview yesterday, Vallacar Transit Incorporated media relations officer Jade Marquez said they will continue to observe regular trip schedules on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, April 6 and 7.
Bus passengers are assured that their drivers and conductors are physically fit and they are regularly undergoing medical check-ups.
There is no need to add bus units, as the number is sufficient.
Marquez is also encouraging travelers to view trip schedules through their official Facebook page.
LTO Bacolod also onguard
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Bacolod will also be onguard during Holy Week as part of the agency’s “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos Para Sa Semana Santa.”
LTO-Bacolod chief Renato Novero said their operation, also part of this year’s summer vacation, began last Friday, March 31.
Novero said they will conduct road worthiness inspection of all bus units in Negros Occidental.
The bus drivers will also be checked if they are licensed, he added.
The LTO will also strictly observe no overloading policy on bus units.
Some personnel are already dispatched to the Bacolod North Bus Terminal and Bacolod City South Terminal to conduct inspections./DGB, WDJ
