Human remains were recovered at a garbage dump at Barangay Damsite in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town on Wednesday afternoon, March 15.
Police have yet to identify the remains, which were placed in a sack.
Murcia town police lead investigator, Police Sergeant Edwin Celiz said a concerned citizen discovered the human bones at the garbage dump while harvesting swamp cabbage or kangkong nearby.
The remains were dumped at least a kilometer away from the nearest house by the roadside.
Celiz said they have yet to confirm if the remains belonged to a male or female, and they have requested the Scene of the Crime Operatives to examine the skeletal remains.
They also believe that the remains have been there for at least a month already.
Celiz called on the public for any family with missing relatives to get in touch with their station immediately./DGB, WDJ
