The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) confirmed that the man wanted by the United States-Federal Bureau of Investigation for allegedly molesting two girls in Los Angeles, California was a resident of Negros Occidental’s Bago City.

NOCPPO spokesperson, Police Captain Judesses Catalogo said operatives from the Bago City Police Station visited the last known address of 48-year-old Edgardo Feralin Dormido Jr., but he is nowhere to be found.

The suspect’s mugshot had also been searched through the police’s facial recognition system, but it came out negative of any records from the Philippine National Police.

Catalogo said Bago police would have invited Dormido to their station for an inquiry.

However, he said Dormido also has the power to decline the invitation since they do not have any warrants against him.

According to a report released by the Los Angeles Times, Dormido was charged with five counts in relation to child molestation at the Los Angeles (L.A.) County Supreme Court in October 2015.

Dormido allegedly molested two nine-year-old girls, touching them inappropriately on numerous occasions for more than a year, according to prosecutors.

He was also slapped with an additional charge in the U.S. of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by the L.A. Superior Court after he fled the country and went to the Philippines via Taiwan./DGB, WDJ
