A senior citizen was stabbed dead by a still unidentified individual at Barangay Camalandaan in Negros Occidental’s Cauayan town on Monday, February 27.
Police identified the fatality as Joelito Mañegos, 65 years old, a resident of the village’s Sitio Tanga-tanga.
Cauayan police chief, Major Gary Alan Resuma said they believed the stabbing was due to past grudges as the victim sustained too many stab wounds all over his body.
Police are still trying to get in touch with the victim’s family and relatives to find out the reason why Mañegos was stabbed.
An investigation is ongoing./DGB, WDJ
