Police officers in Negros Occidental’s Cauayan town are currently eyeing attempted rape as the motive behind the murder of a grandmother last Monday, February 13.

Municipal police chief, Major Gary Alan Resuma said they already have a person of interest in the murder of 61-year-old Nancy Oliverio.

Resuma said the suspect broke inside the house to commit rape.

He added it is possible that Oliverio first saw the suspect, which is why she was stabbed multiple times.

The suspect turned his attention to one of the granddaughters and stabbed her in the face.

Meanwhile, the other granddaughter managed to hide and only came out when the suspect was already gone.

Resuma said the stabbed granddaughter is still recovering at the hospital.

Previously, investigators said the suspect gained access to the victims’ house by entering through a ceiling./DGB, WDJ
