A grandmother was hacked to death by her 17-year-old grandson at Barangay Buluangan’s Sitio Pisong in Negros Occidental’s San Carlos City on Wednesday morning, February 8.
Police identified the fatality as 78-year-old Angelina Escorial, a resident of the said place.
Meanwhile, the name of her grandson was not released as he is still a minor.
City deputy police chief Captain Roby Aurita said a party was held near the victim’s home at that time, and the minor was inebriated.
When he went home, the teen was prompted to hit the victim’s dog as it was barking loudly.
Escorial saw what happened and tried to reprimand her grandson.
Angry at being reprimanded, the grandson grabbed a bladed weapon and attacked his grandmother.
Escorial was dead on the spot after sustaining multiple hack wounds on her body, including one on the head, which police described as a fatal blow.
The teen later surrendered to the barangay officials and was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development./DGB, WDJ
