A motorcycle rider died following a road accident along National Highway at Barangay Salvacion in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town on Sunday night, January 8.

Police identified the fatality as John Michael Joaquin, 17, while his backrider, Aron Sariabia, 18, was wounded.

Both were residents of the town’s Barangay San Miguel.

In the initial investigation by police, the motorcycle hit a pickup driven by Ricky delos Santos, 34, of Camarines Sur’s Maydaso town, on his way to San Carlos City.

Joaquin was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival./WDJ
