The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) said they do not have any personnel listed among the 2,600 errant cops who are facing charges or minor disciplinary action in 2022.
NOCPPO spokesperson, Police Lt. Judesses Catalogo said in a radio interview, that NOCPPO personnel are properly following the guidelines and memorandums set by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Catalogo added that no NOCPPO personnel were dismissed from the service last year.
Earlier this week, PNP spokesperson, Colonel Redrico Maranan said more than 2,051 police personnel were slapped with disciplinary actions for minor infractions.
Of the total number of delinquent personnel, 584 were dismissed from the service for going absent without official leave, 164 were demoted in rank, and 1,225 were met with suspension terms, based on data from the PNP’s Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.
Around 456 cops were “reprimanded,” 26 were restricted to quarters, 63 were denied of some privileges, and 117 were meted with salary forfeiture penalties, the PNP said.
Other police officers were found liable for drug use, violence against women, failure to attend court duty, and involvement in murder, homicide, robbery extortion, carnapping, and rape./DGB, WDJ
