The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) would be left with no choice but to close four stalls in the Manokan Country for noncompliance with a compromise agreement.
The four stalls still have unsettled accounts at the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO).
In October last year, the CLO implemented a closure against 15 Manokan Country tenants for violation of the City Ordinance 565, or the revised local revenue code.
The CLO and the establishments signed a compromise agreement on that day.
Romeo Carlos Ting, Jr. of the CLO said the city has allowed them to continue their business by paying an initial payment and the remainder will be paid in installments until December 31, 2022.
Unsettled accounts accumulated from failure to pay the monthly rentals plus the penalties and surcharges for almost a decade.
Based on the report he obtained from the CTO, Ting said four stall owners never made any payments after they signed the agreement./MS, WDJ
