Bacolod City recorded a total of 332 fire incidents in 2022, based on data released by the city’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The number is almost the same as 333 incidents were recorded in 2021, the BFP-Bacolod said.
The month of January saw the highest number of fire incidents at 53, followed by February with 47, and May with 42 incidents.
Based on the submitted affidavit of fire loss, the most costly month due to fire was in April with damages valued at P10,067,246.50.
Electrical post fires made up most of the incidents last year with 102, followed by grass fires with 88, and residential fires with 76.
Fire-related injuries were at 17, compared to seven logged in 2021.
There were no fatalities related to the fire, the BFP-Bacolod said./DGB, WDJ
