An estimated P408,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from an alleged druggie during an anti-drug operation at Barangay Nanca’s Hacienda Banilad 1 in Negros Occidental’s E.B. Magalona town, early yesterday morning.

Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Michael Bermejo, a resident of the said place.

Municipal police chief, Major Kenneth Gratones said Bermejo was previously identified as a drug surrenderee under Oplan Tokhang.

However, despite surrendering, the suspect allegedly continued engaging in illegal drug activities.

On Tuesday, November 8, a search warrant was issued against Bermejo by the Regional Trial Court Branch 69.

The police recovered 14 sachets of suspected shabu and a fragmentation grenade.

Bermejo is facing charges related to illegal drugs and illegal possession of explosives./DGB, WDJ
