Criminal charges have now been filed against the drivers involved in the deadly road collision along circumferential road in Bacolod City’s Barangay Alijis early Monday morning, August 8.
Police Station 7 commander, Police Capt. Elmer Bonilla, said yesterday morning that charges related to reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage to property have been filed against 23-year-old John Dayday and 43-year-old Warren Blance.
According to Bonilla, the family of the victim, 41-year-old Louie Vergara, refused to settle with the two drivers and want to pursue charges against them.
Bonilla pointed out it would be up to the court to decide as to who is responsible for the victim’s demise.
Vergara was killed early Monday morning after his motorcycle collided with Dayday’s tricycle.
Vergara was subsequently thrown from his motorcycle following the impact and he was run over by Blance’s van.
The victim was declared dead-on-the-spot due to the injuries he sustained from the accident./DGB, WDJ
