The Negrense girls softball seniors team scored back-to-back wins in Delaware, U.S.A. on Wednesday (Philippine time).
On its first game, the team won over Latin America, 3-2, followed by a 10-0 victory against the East Coast girls.
Negrense pitcher Joy Alpitche of Hinoba-an town in Negros Occidental gave the opponents a hard time with her power-packed pitch that shocked the opponents and amazed the viewers both foreigners and Filipinos cheering for the team.
It was an unexpected victory in the second game played at eight in the evening as the team just took a 30-minute break.
The Negros Occidental girls team represented the Philippines and the Asia Pacific as the regional winner.
The team is supported and inspired by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who is also a sportsman. It was the provincial government that supported the preparation of the softball team and sent them to Delaware.
