Mayor Evelio Leonardia and a team from the regional office of the Department of Health (DOH) are scheduled to meet regarding the proposed Teofilo M. Gensoli Memorial Medical Center.
Leonardia said that DOH-6 Regional Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an was also pleased to learn that the city government was able to secure a four-hectare lot donation courtesy of the Gensoli family in Barangay Vista Alegre.
The mayor informed the DOH regional head that Ms. Gloria Gensoli facilitated the donation of the property that will be called the Teofilo M. Gensoli Memorial Medical Center in honor of the family’s patriarch.
The mayor’s office is coordinating details of the meeting with Kristine D. Solas, who serves as DOH representative to Negros Occidental.
Components of the Teofilo M. Gensoli Memorial Medical Center is the new City Health Office (CHO) that will have a dialysis center, dental clinic, birthing facility, and other state-of-the-art medical equipment to better address the health care needs of Bacolodnons.
The new CHO will be built using local government funds, the mayor said.
Also to be located inside the Gensoli medical center is the proposed Bacolod City Hospital./WDJ
