Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo has written a letter to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Police General Dionardo Carlos, urging him not to reassign Police Brigadier General Randy Peralta to Western Visayas (WV).

Peralta is the deputy director for administration of the PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) based in Camp Crame in Metro Manila.

Based on the copy of the letter obtained by Watchmen Daily Journal, Arceo told the PNP chief that Peralta is the husband of Mitchelle Cordova-Peralta, who will be running for the mayoralty post in Hinigaran in the upcoming elections.

Aside from Peralta, the mayor is also requesting Carlos to reassign newly-appointed CIDG-Negros Occidental director, Police Lt. Colonel Santi Mendoza, pointing out that Mendoza is a close buddy of Peralta.

“In the interest of an open, fair, and honest conduct of elections, the undersigned interposes objection to the appointment/designation of Peralta and Mendoza,” the mayor said.

He also respectfully requests for the two to be relieved or reassigned to other positions which they cannot directly influence the outcome of elections in the town./DGB, WDJ
