Cauayan is among the worst-hit towns in southern Negros Occidental.

To fast-track the distribution of relief goods and other assistance, the municipal government formed two validation teams, one for the southern part of the town and another for the north, to conduct assessment.

Victims who were left homeless or whose houses were destroyed as well as those whose houses were damaged are prioritized.

Mayor John Rey D. Tabujara and Vice Mayor Jing T. Soriano together with the Sangguniang Bayan members are also working round the clock, finding and reaching out for possible sources of food and water supply to aid the 25 barangays, with the help of the Philippine Army and the Philippine Coast Guard./WDJ
