A female manicurist was declared dead-on-the-spot after she was shot by an unidentified gunman at Purok Riverside in Bacolod City’s Barangay Banago late Tuesday night, December 7.

Police identified the fatality as 41-year-old Alma dela Cruz, a resident of Zone 2 Purok Riverside in the said barangay.

Police Station 3 commander, Police Major Richard Pajarito, said dela Cruz was inside a computer shop when a helmet-wearing gunman suddenly entered the establishment and opened fire at the victim using a .45 caliber pistol.

Dela Cruz was instantly killed after sustaining a gunshot wound at the back of his head.

Reports have surfaced that the manicurist was said to be an asset for law enforcement, however Pajarito said they are unable to confirm the authenticity of the report.

A background of the victim also revealed that her husband is currently serving a prison sentence for an illegal drugs charge.

Police are currently looking at illegal drug links as the motive behind the murder./DGB, WDJ
