Vice guv saddened over ex-E.B. Magalona mayor’s passing

Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer paid his respect to former E.B. Magalona Mayor David Albert Lacson, who passed away at the age of 46 on Friday, December 3, after falling ill with COVID-19.

Ferrer said Lacson was known to be a dedicated worker and public servant.

The vice governor regarded the former mayor more as a “brother” than a simple friend and he has expressed shock and grief upon learning of his passing.

Ferrer said Lacson is one of the United Negros Alliance pillars.

According to him, he last talked with Lacson on November 30, wherein the latter informed him that he had tested positive for COVID-19 during a rapid antigen test.

Ferrer said he immediately advised Lacson to go to the hospital, pointing out that even if he only had flu-like symptoms in which Lacson had himself admitted on December 1.

Aside from COVID-19, the vice governor revealed that the former mayor also suffered several health issues such as problems with his liver due to high SGPT, creatinine, and cholesterol.
