NegOcc guv leads turnover of bamboo propagules, sweet langka seedlings

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the ceremonial turnover of a total of 500 giant bamboo propagules and 70 Abuyog sweet langka seedlings to the beneficiaries from the different local government units (LGUs), provincial demo farms and nurseries, irrigators associations, and farmer associations in the province.

The seedlings and propagules were from former Department of Agriculture secretary Manny Piñol. It will serve as sources of planting materials for propagation and expansion under the re-greening program, which is also supported by Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Roy Cimatu.

The activity was held at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City yesterday afternoon during the Agricultural Stakeholders Forum, with Engr. Albert Barrogo of DA Region VI and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist OIC, Dr. Dina Genzola, among others./WDJ
