PDEA-6 destroys over P53-M shabu in San Carlos City

More than P53 million worth of shabu were destroyed on Friday afternoon, November 26, at the San Carlos City Bio-energy, Inc. Facility in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The event was witnessed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Western Visayas (PDEA-6), San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, Police Regional Office 6 Forensics Unit, officials from the Department of Justice, Public Attorney’s Office, and representatives from other non-government organizations.

According to PDEA-6, the illegal drugs were seized from various anti-illegal drug operations from Capiz, Iloilo and Negros Occidental.

The illegal drugs that were destroyed were composed of 6,280.0099 grams of shabu valued at P53,380,084.15, and 427.7840 grams of marijuana valued at P64,167.60

The PDEA-6 lab has started retrieving drugs since July 2021 with cases decided as early as 2012 and others as recent as 2020.

It further added the destruction was done at the bio-energy facility in adherence to the rules and guidelines under Republic Act 9165 and Dangerous Drugs Board Regulations./DGB, WDJ
