The Negros Occidental government will establish a Youth Safe Space and Innovation Center.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson recently signed a Deed of Usufruct with the Negrosanon Young Leaders’ Institute (NYLI) for a one-year use of office space located at the second floor of the Negros First CyberCentre Annex Building in Bacolod City.
The NYLI was represented by its president, Teodoro Angelo Villanueva, and executive director, Kevin Gaitan.
The Youth Safe Space and Innovation Center will be used primarily as a dedicated mental and psychological support facility for Negrense youth at risk and youth seeking refuge from sexual abuse and exploitation.
It will also provide a space for the youth to collaborate on projects and initiatives addressing key issues in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.
The signing, which was held at the Governor’s Office, was witnessed by Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Jade Miraflores, NYLI Technical Manager for Youth Engagement, Joshua Eusebio, Advocacy and Communications Manager, Programs Director Jomar Borromeo, and NYLI Executive Secretary Stella Mae Sayco./WDJ
