The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 (PDEA-6) is hiring more agents.

PDEA-6 director Alex Tablate said the agency still needs at least 300 personnel to be assigned in Western Visayas’ six provinces namely, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.

At present, there are 194 expected agent-trainees from the first batch who are currently undergoing series of tests.

On Saturday, November 13, there were 65 trainees who belonged to the second batch who underwent neuropsychological exam (NPE) while 70 applicants from batch 1 had already finished taking examination test.

Applicants who will successfully pass the NPE will proceed to the physical and dental examinations, followed by the physical fitness test and panel interview.

Tablate said those who can pass all the examinations and panel interview will be sent to PDEA Academy in the national office for rigid training, ranking and assignment.

“Ang lahat na nakapasa ipadala sa PDEA Academy for their ranking and specific assignment kasi ang PDEA kasi national ang mag-rank sa kanila, unlike sa other government forces na pwede sila mag-hire sa local level. Kami national kasi,” Tablate said.

He added, “Medyo malaki-laki pa rin ang need natin na agents dito sa Region 6 para ma-fill in natin ang need natin na personnel sa mga provinces. May mga sub-office kasi tayo sa lahat na province dito.” (Ruby P. Silubrico)/WDJ
