As we inch closer to the end of the year, exciting things are coming to property giant Megaworld’s celebrated townships in the City of Smiles.

The pandemic may have delayed a few developments in the 53-hectare Northill Gateway in the boundary of Talisay and Bacolod, and the 34-hectare The Upper East in the city proper, but the wait just made everything a lot more worth it.

Over at Northill Gateway near the Bacolod-Silay International Airport, a much-anticipated “first” is about to be unraveled by Megaworld soon that will surely delight locals and tourists alike. A few weeks ago, the property giant announced that construction is now underway for the first-ever McDonald’s NXTGen store in Negros Occidental, which will be located just beside the iconic Las Vegas-inspired Bacolod City Welcome Marker—the first of its kind in the Philippines.

“We are excited to have our own unique and first-in-the-province McDonald’s NXTGen store right in front of our Forbes Hill residential village. This will really make the entire township even more promising as this heralds the start of our vibrant commercial developments within Northill Gateway. Our plan is to open this Megaworld-owned store just in time for Christmas,” says Jennifer Palmares-Fong, vice president for sales and marketing, Megaworld Visayas.

The free-standing McDonald’s NXTGen in Northill Gateway will just be a few steps away from Forbes Hill’s main gate and will offer fantastic and refreshing views of the surrounding sugarcane plantations and the Negros mountain ranges, especially on a clear day. Featuring a modern industrial design, the store will feature innovations, such as Self-Ordering Kiosks and Drive-Thru Services with Hand-held Order Taking System. The store will also have a green wall, alfresco dining area, ‘Bike and Dine Area’, and its own McCafe. It will also offer its own Delivery Services.

Last chance to own a slice of Forbes Hill

With wide, open spaces, a European-inspired giant fountain, and roads soon to be lined by trees, Forbes Hill will make you think of Europe’s stunning courtyards and neighborhoods.

Residential lots at the 15-hectare Forbes Hill are already about 90% sold, with houses now being built inside Bacolod’s most luxurious village to date. Lot sizes inside the village range from 449 square meters up to 861 square meters, with buyers having the option to combine adjacent lots.

Future residents will also enjoy all the amenities at The Clubhouse that are now fully completed. These include a ballroom, game and entertainment room, fitness center, swimming pool, business center, and a basketball court. The entire property is now being professionally managed by Asia Affinity, which prides itself on offering top-notch hotel-inspired property management services.

Forbes Hill will light up in festive Christmas colors this holiday season, which is expected to become another grand spectacle.

Bacolod’s new, modern CBD takes shape

Over at the Bacolod city proper, another Megaworld township continues its rise as more and more developments come to fruition inside the New York City-inspired The Upper East.

The 12-story One Regis, Megaworld’s first residential condominium development inside the township, is now completed. Construction is also underway for the 14-story Two Regis, while another condominium project—the 14-story One Manhattan—has already broken ground.

The eight-lane Upper East Avenue, which links the Lopez Jaena Street to the Circumferential Road, is also now fully completed together with streetlights and other township infrastructure. Before the year ends, the township road along the Circumferential Road will also open to further give Bacolodnons better access to and from The Upper East.

The Lopue’s Annex Mall, one of the first retail developments inside the township, has also been completed and will soon welcome shoppers and visitors of The Upper East.

In the coming months, Megaworld will be building its themed showroom that will carry unique design and architecture inspired by the area’s rich heritage as the former site of the Bacolod-Murcia Milling Company. This intricately designed showroom will be surrounded by a sprawling park and garden.

Indeed, this year is shaping up as a time when Bacolodnons will soon have more reasons to fall in love with the sights, the sceneries, and virtually everything about Megaworld’s townships in the City of Smiles.
