The personnel of the Philippine Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade (303IB) and its line battalions were already in alert posture yesterday in preparation for Tropical Depression “Lannie.”

Brigadier General Inocencio Pasaporte, 303IB commander, alerted Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Response (HADR) teams from the 303IB, 62nd Infantry Battalion and 79th Infantry Battalion composed of regular soldiers to be deployed in the first to fifth districts of Negros Occidental and first district of Negros Oriental
The Army also prepared its military field ambulances, military trucks and utility vehicles to provide necessary mobility assistance. They are also being augmented by reservists and auxiliary units ready reserve forces.
“Your Army in Negros are in a high state of readiness, preparation, and dedication. We are always ready and alert both in times of natural calamities and man-made disasters since the lives and safety of the people are of paramount importance. Nevertheless, the attainment of this objective is based on strong collaborations and cooperation among the local government units, agencies, and stakeholders. Above all, let us keep our strong faith in GOD, our creator who will protect us all against any disaster,” Pasaporte said./WDJ
