A police colonel from Negros Occidental is the new spokesperson of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PNP chief General Guillermo Eleazar has designated Police Colonel Roderick Alba as the new spokesman effective today, replacing Police Brigadier General Rolando Olay.
Alba is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1992.
He was previously the officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and provincial director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office.
Alba also served as head of the Regional Operation Plans and Division of the Police Regional Office 6 and was later transferred to the PNP’s headquarters in Camp Crame in Metro Manila serving as deputy director of the PNP’s Directorate for Information Technology Management System.
Since the PNP spokesman is required to have a star-rank position, it is expected that Alba will also be promoted to police brigadier general soon.
Alba is also the husband of veteran Negrense journalist, Leilani Salem Alba./DGB, WDJ
