Almost 30% of ECQ-affected families in Iloilo get cash aid

Almost 30 percent of the target families affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) status of the city and province of Iloilo have already received their cash assistance.

Data from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-6 showed that as of Monday, August 9, around 28.93 percent or 242,939 families already got hold of their cash assistance amounting to a total of P779,166,800.

The cash aid was funded through DSWD’s Special Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation program.

Each affected individual will get P1,000 cash with a maximum amount of P4,000 per family.

To recall, a total of P2,662,244,000 cash aid has been downloaded by the DSWD to all local government units in the city and province of Iloilo.

The two areas in Western Visayas were placed under ECQ which qualified affected residents to get financial aid.

A total of 665,561 families in the city and province of Iloilo are target beneficiaries of the assistance. (Glenda Tayona)/WDJ
