Facing illegal drug charges, a 64-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning at Barangay Tuyom in Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the suspect as Raynor Cañada of the said place.

Officers of the Cauayan Police Station arrested Cañada through the strength of an arrest warrant for violation of the Section 5, Article 2 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, issued by Judge Rodney Z. Magbanua of the 6th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court – Branch 61 in Kabankalan City.

According to Police Corporal Emmanual Edson Jamandre, Cañada was arrested on September 2, 2017, but he availed the plea bargaining agreement from court and was released on May 10, 2018.

Cañada is now detained at the Cauayan Police Station.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty./WDJ
