Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the city is expected to receive an additional shipment of 15,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines today.
In a statement issued by the mayor, he thanked Department of Health 6 (DOH-6) Director Emilia Monicimpo for responding to their request for additional vaccines.
“This is good news because this will accelerate the momentum of our vaccination program,” Leonardia said.
In total, Bacolod City has already done more than 52,000 inoculations and they are encouraged as vaccine acceptance is also improving among the people.
The mayor said their dedicated vaccination teams will see to it that they will implement the vaccination of these 15,000 new doses of Sinovac at the soonest possible time in different vaccination centers across the city.
The new shipment is also on top of the 17,000 Sinovac doses that arrived on the first week of June./DGB, WDJ
