‘Shabu’ sends woman to jail

A 30-year-old woman landed in jail following a drug buy-bust operation around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7, at Osmeña Avenue in Barangay 6, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Normie Casumpang alias “Normie,” a resident of Fermont Village in the city’s Barangay 7, was tagged as a street level drug target, police said.

Officers of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of Victorias City Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Corpuz confiscated eight sachets of suspected shabu including the buy-bust item valued at around P13,500.

Police also seized P300 in buy-bust money and P200 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions.

Casumpang was detained at the Victorias City Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./WDJ
