A driver died while his back rider was injured when their motorcycle crashed against a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Barangay Sarapan, Passi City, Iloilo on Sunday.

Passi City police said 24-year-old Eddie Navigar, a resident of the said place, died of head injuries at the city’s Don Valerio Palmares District Hospital.

The back rider, a 16-year-old lad of the city’s Barangay Bacuranan, sustained body injury and was recuperating at the said hospital.

Police report revealed that the incident happened at around 4:20 p.m. The victims’ motorcycle bumped into an SUV driven by 37-year-old  Jason Laruscain of Barangay Buri, Lambunao, Iloilo who was making a U-turn.

Laruscain was detained at the Passi City Police Station./WDJ
